Join us for “BLOOM: Spring Yoga Retreat for New Beginnings,” a 3-night Yoga Retreat at Elohee Wellness Center, nestled in the beautiful mountains of the Sautee Nacoochee National Forest. Guests will stay together in the Thanksgiving House, overlooking a 100-ft waterfall, and enjoy a variety of yoga, meditation, and other wellness experiences, led by Jen Fortin (ERYT200 Yoga Instructor) and Megan Schlobohm (ERYT500 Yoga Instructor and owner of Anderson Yoga Center).


Spring is a time of New Beginnings - where the dormancy of Winter is melting away, and beautiful, vibrant new life is BLOOMING in the world all around! This Yoga Retreat will be a celebration of Spring, where guests will enjoy a variety of yoga, meditation, and other wellness experiences, perfectly blended with free time to rest, read, write, hike, get massages, and generally enjoy the beautiful mountains where Elohee is perfectly nestled.
 

Guests will arrive on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 2pm, and our first group experience will begin with a welcome circle celebration of yoga, meditation, and group introductions; and then our first dinner together. Throughout this weekend, guests will experience twice daily yoga and meditation sessions with Megan and Jen, as well as other wellness activities, including nature walks, vision boarding, evening connection time, a fire circle, and other activities to honor the beautiful change into the Spring Season. This retreat will end on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 2pm, after morning yoga, group time for integration, and lunch.

Included in this retreat are 3 nights of accommodations in the cozy Thanksgiving House, all meals (beginning with dinner the first night, ending with lunch the final day; meals will be mostly vegetarian with some healthy animal protein options, with gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options as well); and yoga, meditation, and other wellness activities with Megan and Jen. Participants can also schedule on-site massages and other healing sessions (not included).


NO Yoga or Meditation Experience is necessary to participate in this weekend of serenity and sanctuary. All are welcome!

Accommodations & Pricing

The Thanksgiving House was the original structure at Elohee and is currently available for use by small private groups. With six bedrooms and four bathrooms, it sleeps up to fourteen. It offers two community rooms with fireplaces, a kitchen and dining room, as well as a meditation/yoga room.  The outdoor patio has its own fireplace and overlooks a 100 foot waterfall and small pool.

The Thanksgiving House is nestled in a Rich Cove Forest niche which supports a wide range of trees and plants.  Red maple, oak, basswood, and poplar are only a few of the types of trees growing here. Spring wildflowers and medicinal herbs flourish here. Mosses and rotting logs make the damp forest floor suitable for a wide variety of salamanders and one of the most diverse ecosystems found outside the tropics.

The Thanksgiving House is situated next to a 100-ft. waterfall, and about a 10-minute walk from Bald Mountain. It has 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 indoor fireplaces, 1 outdoor fireplace, and a meeting space that comfortably fits 10-13 people.

About Elohee Wellness Center

From the Elohee website: "We call the 220 acres of undeveloped land where Elohee rests Landsong. It is located in the North Georgia mountains in the foothills of the Blue Ridge near the village of Sautee Nacoochee. Andy and Carolyn Bralley purchased the land in 2010 while their daughter, Evie Cook, was battling refractory Hodgkins lymphoma. Learn more about Eve’s story and the beginnings of Elohee.

The Elohee Center at Landsong is being created to provide a retreat space in Nature to allow for self-exploration, individual growth, and mind/body healing. Megan Schlobohm
ERYT500 Yoga Instructor

Megan Schlobohm is the owner of Anderson Yoga Center, and a fellow Yoga Instructor at the studio. Megan has been practicing yoga since 2003, and earned her RYT200 Certificate in September 2017. In January 2018, she purchased the studio and began shaping it into the vibrant, fun, life-enriching place it is today. In July 2020, Megan completed an additional 300 hours of advanced yoga teacher training with John's Creek Yoga in Atlanta, GA, upgrading her certification to ERYT500. She has more recently applied to become a Registered Yoga School, and will be the lead instructor for the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at the studio; and also leads local and international Yoga Retreats. Megan has a Master's of Science in Mental Health Therapy from Mercer University, and spent 9 years as a professional chef alongside her husband, Ernie, working on luxury yachts in the Caribbean.

 

Megan's main style is vinyasa-based, with a methodical pace; special focus on the breath; attention to safe alignment; and a positive message to take beyond the mat. Megan also teaches Gentle Flow, Yin Yoga, and Restorative Yoga, which are much slower and have a deeply relaxing vibe. Megan studies and teaches pranayama and meditation, offering several guided pranayama and meditation classes every week, as well as special pranayama and meditation events. Overall, she seeks to help students find a lifelong, fulfilling, sustainable practice, and greater quality of life.

 

Megan also teaches Kid’s Yoga; Goat Yoga; Paddleboard Yoga on Lake Hartwell, sharing even more joy and laughter with the community! She holds her Reiki Master certification, and is additionally certified in Aromatherapy, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra Meditation, Thai Yoga Massage, and Power Sculpt Yoga.

Jen Fortin

ERYT200 Yoga Instructor

Jen Fortin, E-RYT200, began her yoga journey in 2010 after the birth of her son. Yoga brought her a sense of peace and self-discovery that she had never experienced before. Jen knew very quickly that sharing yoga with others was going to be her life’s passion.


While working on her personal training certification in 2014, Jen took a chance and added a Hatha Yoga teacher training to her radar. Quickly thereafter she began working with private clients for both yoga and general health and fitness. Jen was invited to work with the former professional soccer team, the Carolina Railhawks (now NCFC), focusing on yoga for athletes, including injury prevention, muscular recovery, breathwork, joint health, and improved flexibility and mobility.


In 2015, Jen decided to take her yoga for athletes teachings a step further and embarked on studying with Sage Rountree in Carrboro, North Carolina, completing her Yoga for Athletes teacher training. Soon after, Jen continued to learn under Sage and her team earning her RYT200 certification.
 

In the following years, she has worked with various collegiate athletic teams and a wide range of individual athletes from Crossfit to golfers and everything in between. Jen loves to work with athletes, but has also been known to dive into teaching a fun, strength building power class; yoga for beginners; and wide range of yoga fusion classes including ballet barre, suspension trainer flows, balance board yoga, yoga with weights, and more! Jen is also leads local and international yoga retreats, and mentors and teaches in the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Program at Anderson Yoga Center in Anderson, SC.
