LET YOUR SOUL SHINE!

“When you can’t find the light

That guides you through a cloudy day

When the stars ain’t shining bright

And you feel like you’ve lost you’re way

When the candle lights of home

Burn so very far away

Well you got to let your soul shine”

- The Allman Brothers Band

About Bodhi Tree Resort & Nosara, Costa Rica

Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort opened its doors in 2014 for travelers that want to enjoy the magic of Costa Rica in a very unique and healthy way. Enjoy high-end accommodations, superb dining experience, world class yoga and pilates studios, gym, spa, juice bar, and boutique - all in a beautiful island setting.

The Bodhi Tree Resort was purposely and meticulously designed around nature, assuring that the surrounding jungle of Nosara, Costa Rica is left as close to its natural state as possible. Located in the beautiful province of Guanacaste in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica, the community of Nosara, known as one of the most sophisticated beach towns in Costa Rica, has a lot to offer to travelers from around the world. Its charm stems from a community that is united in the care of their beautiful town. The local citizens take pride in their pristine beaches and sustainability, while sharing a passion for the protection of hundreds of acres of sprawling forest – an experience visitors will never forget.

Nosara boasts a drive for ecotourism, sustainability, and recycling like no other town in the country. This sets the perfect example of a planned developed community. The natural beauty, way of life, and overall vibe became a dream come true for hundreds of families that chose to live a tranquil and relaxed life. Parents have the opportunity to immerse their children in a more organic way of living in nature, and showing respect and loving nature becomes one of the most important parts of life. Being woken up by howler monkeys; eating healthy, locally grown, REAL food; playing outside; enjoying wonderful bilingual private school options; and learning to respect different cultures, the children grow up with a real sense of life.

Yoga & Surfing culture is huge and a significant component of this town. You will see that people are either carrying a surf board or a yoga mat in their arms. Nosara has been called one of the world’s 20 best surf towns. With a diversity of waves in the area, it invites novice, world-class, and intermediate surfers to enjoy the magical and consistent waves year-round. There are a variety of fitness options all over town. If you are not a surfer or a yogi, you don’t have to worry! There are plenty of adventure activities around like ATV tours, Zip Lining, Horseback Riding, Stand Up Paddling, Kayak and much more.

Jen Fortin
ERYT200 Yoga Instructor

Jen Fortin, E-RYT200, began her yoga journey in 2010 after the birth of her son. Yoga brought her a sense of peace and self discovery that she had never experienced before. Jen knew very quickly that sharing yoga with others was going to be her life’s passion.

While working on her personal training certification in 2014, Jen took a chance and added a Hatha Yoga teacher training to her radar. Quickly thereafter she began working with private clients for both yoga and general health and fitness. Jen was invited to work with the former professional soccer team, the Carolina Railhawks (now NCFC), focusing on yoga for athletes, including injury prevention, muscular recovery, breath work, joint health, and improved flexibility and mobility.

In 2015, Jen decided to take her yoga for athletes teachings a step further and embarked on studying with Sage Rountree in Carrboro, North Carolina, completing her Yoga for Athletes teacher training. Soon after, Jen continued to learn under Sage and her team earning her RYT 200.

In the following years, she has worked with various collegiate athletic teams and a wide range of individual athletes from Crossfit to golfers and everything in between. Jen loves to work with athletes, but has also been known to dive into teaching a fun, strength building power class; yoga for beginners; and wide range of yoga fusion classes including ballet barre, suspension trainer flows, balance board yoga, yoga with weights, and more!
